CBD for You

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid – a class of compounds unique to cannabis and found in the hemp plant.

Is CBD legal?

Short answer, yes.

While the laws around hemp and cannabis are constantly evolving, our CBD comes from the hemp plant with under .3% THC in accordance with Sec. 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill. This is considered a trace amount of THC.

However, we do not ship to Idaho, South Dakota, Ohio, and Indiana.

Will CBD get me high?

CBD is non-psychoactive, so no – it will not get you high.

Will this show up on a drug test?

While Toast has .3% of THC it is a very limited amount and within the legal amount. However, due to the complexities of drug testing and the different testing methods used, we can make no representations about the possible results of any drug testing after consuming our products.

What terpenes are found in Toast?

Alpha-Pinene, Sabinene, beta-Myrcene, Limonene alpha-Humulene.

What should I expect?

How and when you see the benefits of taking CBD depends on a number of factors, including how fast your metabolism works and how much you weigh. Most people will feel a difference within a day or two of beginning a nightly regimen, but for others, it may take up to two weeks, so please be patient (and consistent).

How much should I take?

A rule of thumb: start point with 10-20 mg at a time. CBD is meant to be experimented with. The fact is that each of our bodies responds differently to CBD, meaning there is no one-size-fits-all recommended dosage. Your body has a unique endocannabinoid system, which helps our bodies maintain homeostasis, so you’ll have a different sweet spot than the next person.

How should I take this?

The most efficient way to take CBD is sublingual. But this doesn’t mean just taking a dropperful and swallowing it. You should hold it under your tongue or against your cheek for at least 20-30 seconds for maximum absorption and then swallow. Ingesting CBD directly (in food or drink) means processing it through your liver, and you lose up to 70% of the active cannabinoids that way but if that’s the best way for you to incorporate it, it’s a good start.

What is the difference between CBD Oil and CBD Tincture?

People refer to CBD Oil in a variety of ways, cannabidiol oil, CBD tincture or full-spectrum CBD. Always look at the ingredient line and when possible ask for the test results to ensure that you’re getting the highest quality CBD possible.

Can I take CBD with other medications?

Please consult with your doctor and/or healthcare provider regarding questions about how prescription medications and/or supplements will interact with your regimen.

CBD is a cannabinoid. But what does it do?

Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive (read: it won’t get you high). CBD also operates a little differently. Instead of binding directly to your ECS receptors, it merely stimulates them, which in turn impacts how other cannabinoids bind to those receptors—and how your body reacts to them.

I've heard people talk about the "entourage effect." What is it?

The “entourage effect” is when cannabinoids work in concert to increase their therapeutic benefits and effects. Think of it as the cannabinoid version of “it takes a village.” It’s also why we recommend full-spectrum products (not just ours) over isolate ones.
