A Breakdown of Different CBD Delivery Methods

CBD oils may help with pain, but they’re far from the only tool in the CBD toolbox. And while putting CBD in your coffee could help you get through your morning subway commute, those with localized pain, for example, may benefit from a  CBD topical. In order to know which delivery method is best for you and your needs, it’s crucial to understand the different options and how each works..

CBD’s Biggest Weakness

 As amazing as CBD is, actually getting its active form into your body can present a challenge. CBD is almost always poorly absorbed; its bioavailability tends to hover in the 10-20% absorption range. You can blame your liver and its proclivity to metabolize everything for that.

We don’t say this to play down CBD’s benefits. We just want to help you make sure that you’re fully benefiting from your doses with a few tips and tricks.

Diversity = Strength

When it comes to CBD products, a holistic approach is best. Don’t just take one type of CBD—take a diversity of types! And don’t just take a single dose each day and call it quits—experiment with microdosing and other dosing techniques to see what works best for you.

Why is taking CBD in more than one way is best? The reason is simple: it’s the best way to be on the safe side. We’re still collectively learning how much CBD any given person needs, how their body will respond to it, and so forth. In the absence of larger clinical trials that give us that full picture, diversifying your CBD intake is the perfect way to go.

And one of our favorite ways to diversify is by combining ingestible CBD oil and CBD topicals.

How to Get the Best of Both Worlds

CBD oils and topicals are practically opposites, as far as their effects are concerned. One kicks in instantly but isn’t absorbed into the whole body (topicals); the other kicks in slowly and gets absorbed everywhere. If you want to get the best of both worlds, consider incorporating this combo into your daily routine.

Also keep in mind that timing is everything. If you only take CBD in the evenings, you might sleep better, but you won’t have it helping you power through the day. Many of our customers divide their CBD up into 2 (or more) daily doses, taken once in the morning and once in the evening. Many cannabis experts think microdosing with 5-10+ daily doses is even more effective, but it’s also important to do what’s convenient for you. You can achieve something similar by taking a consistent amount of long-lasting CBD oil every day and reaching for a smokeable CBD product whenever you need that extra boost.

One More Delivery Method You Should Know About

Speaking of smokeable CBD products, have you tried them yet?

If not, you might be missing out. Smokable hemp provides pretty much everything you’d want in a CBD product: not only is it quick and convenient, but it has one of the highest bioavailability rates of any consumption method.

But don’t just take smokable products. CBD oil, after all, is perfect for reaching that daily baseline. And don’t forget about CBD-infused edibles, either, especially if you have a sweet tooth.
