6 Tips & Tricks For Using CBD Oil

You may be new to this whole CBD thing and are unsure of where to begin. With a large variety of products and information available, it can be overwhelming to decide which products will be the most effective for your personal needs. It is crucial to keep an eye out for what makes a quality, clean, and effective CBD tincture. That’s where we come in - we're here to share the best tips & tricks to make purchasing and using CBD oil a breeze.

1. Look for Full-Spectrum

To maximize the benefits of CBD, you want to invest in a full-spectrum CBD product. You’ll generally be able to find three different CBD oils on the market: full-spectrum CBD oil, broad-spectrum CBD oil, and CBD oil from CBD isolate.

Full-spectrum means that all cannabis compounds are included in the oil, not just CBD. Cannabis is packed with other cannabinoids and terpenes that can have therapeutic effects. When all these compounds work together, the properties of the plant are much more substantial. A broad-spectrum CBD oil contains almost all compounds from the hemp plant, but it leaves out the THC. Isolate CBD oil can contain up to 99% CBD, but it takes out all other hemp compounds.

So what is the benefit of full-spectrum? CBD works better surrounded by an entourage of like-minded molecules. A full-spectrum CBD oil can provide you with the “Entourage Effect,” which refers to how hemp’s most active ingredients synergize with each other to create elevated benefits for your body that they would not be able to achieve on their own.

2. Make Sure Your CBD is Third-Party Tested

Why is third-party testing important? Making sure your product is third-party tested allows you to know the credibility of the ingredients so you can precisely ensure what you are putting in your body. The third-party testing is a transparent look at what is inside. At Toast, each individual product is third-party tested and given a certificate of analysis to give you a deep and honest understanding of what you are consuming.

3. Read the Bottle

This might seem obvious, but we are all guilty of skipping the instructions every now and then. CBD is not the time or the place. The instructions can have crucial information about dosage, usage, ingredients, and standards.

One of the biggest mistakes people make with oral CBD oil is taking it incorrectly and claiming to feel none of the effects or benefits. The instructions can give you detailed steps on how you should take CBD oil orally. Don’t worry - we will also explain here for your convenience.

When taking CBD oil orally, make sure to hold the liquid under your tongue for at least 30 seconds before swallowing. The area under your tongue has tons of salivary glands; waiting 30 seconds gives your body time to absorb the CBD oil.

You can find additional information on the bottle other than the instructions. You can gain insight into what’s inside. First, look out for the type of hemp oil, whether it is full-spectrum hemp extract or made with a CBD isolate. You can also see what other ingredients the CBD oil is made with that may have additional benefits.

Another hint of a quality CBD product is a USDA certification stamp to ensure your product is grown with organic practices. When labeled as USDA Certified Organic, it means the plant has been grown with organic processes and methods.

4. Start Slow

Slow down there, buddy! You might be excited to feel the full effects and benefits of CBD oil, but you don’t want to overdo it. It might take some trial and error to find the sweet spot of how much CBD oil will efficiently meet your needs. We even recommend keeping a journal to help track of each dosage and how it makes you feel. Everyone is different, so your CBD dosage will be different too!

Like most new things, it's good to ease your way into incorporating CBD into your daily routine. Depending on how you hope to benefit from CBD can influence how much CBD oil you consume, and at what times of day or night. A standard recommendation is to start with a low “Everyday” dose in the morning or evening and adjust accordingly based on how you feel. As a general rule, we always recommend consulting with your doctor or physician.

5. Note the Potency

On top of knowing your correct dosage, you will want to be mindful of your CBD oil potency. Cannabinoids interact with the body and are affected by variables like weight, metabolism, diet, and product consistency. Toast CBD oils come in for potency options:

  • Everyday (250mg CBD, 30mL) The best choice for those who are new to CBD. This potency option is generally enjoyed 1-2 times a day.
  • Extra Strength (500mg CBD, 30mL) If you are familiar with CBD and have consumed it in the past, Extra Strength is made for daily use.
  • Maximum Strength (1000mg CBD, 30m) Our strongest potency formulation for those seeking the maximum benefit of a full spectrum formulation.

We always recommend starting with a lower dose and gradually working your way up!

6. Get Creative With CBD

You can get creative when implementing CBD into your diet. CBD can be a huge game changer in the kitchen. You can add a couple drops of CBD into your salad dressing or get a little more advanced and bake CBD cookies or brownies. You can also add CBD to your morning smoothies and blend with peanut butter and bananas for a smooth dose of CBD to help conquer your day!
